Fritz worked for Swiss Re from 1996 to 2007, starting out as Head of Corporate Learning in charge of the Group Training Programs, which formed part of Swiss Re's Management Development. He developed the concept for the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue in Rüschlikon and, in 1999, was appointed as Director of the Centre. Until 2005 the Centre was also the home of the Leadership Academy. As Head of the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue he was a member of the Executive Team in the global Division Communications & Human Resources. In 2007, Fritz joined Credit Suisse Group as Head of the Chairman’s Office. In this function he was also Global Head Corporate Citizenship and served as Director of the Credit Suisse Foundation. He returned to Swiss Re in June 2011. In addition to his work for the Swiss Re Foundation, Fritz also serves as trustee of Swisscontact, an independent foundation for international development cooperation, and Careum, a foundation for education and research in healthcare. He is also a Board Member of Careum Hochschule Gesundheit and a member of the Advisory Board of the Zurich University of the Arts, ZHdK. Prior to entering the corporate world Fritz Gutbrodt pursued an academic career. He was Visiting Scholar at Cornell University and, from 1989 to 1994, Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University. Since 1998 he has taught regularly as an Adjunct Professor in the Humanities at the University of Zurich. Fritz Gutbrodt obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Zurich.
