How is a Shine enterprise contributing towards net zero emissions in the construction sector?
Across rapidly urbanizing cities, air pollution and carbon concentration continue to rise impacting both environmental and human health. The construction and design industries are the biggest producers of greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide, contributing significantly to carbon concentrations in the atmosphere.
Shine India enterprise, Bengaluru-based CarbonCraft addresses this challenge by converting industrial by-products to premium construction materials and wall solutions which is zero-cement, zero-firing and zero-clay.
Offered by the Swiss Re Foundation, the flagship program, Shine helps early-stage climate enterprises strengthen and scale their business models with sharpened focus and clarity of approach, through mentorship from Swiss Re colleagues and strategic grant funding.
By reimagining carbon as a resource, the enterprise is helping reshape how materials are produced—and how cities can grow more sustainably.
Through Shine, CarbonCraft worked with Swiss Re India colleagues to refine its go-to-market and scaling strategy , strengthen its business model for growth beyond grants and build a clearer value proposition for customers and partners. The impact story reflects the journey of CarbonCraft since Shine and what keeps them excited for the months ahead.
