Voices for resilience

Igniting the spark of a resilient tomorrow. Together.

Voices of Resilience

In this digital annual report, we provide a bird’s eye view not only of the Swiss Re Foundation’s achievements in 2024 but also of our development as we transition from one strategic cycle to the next. In addition to the year’s highlights, the report presents our high-level impacts in 2022-2024, our sharpened value proposition and our strategic focus for 2025-2027.

We believe the Foundation’s unique opportunity to make the world more resilient lies in its ability to strengthen low-income communities by de-risking entrepreneurial solutions to climate and health challenges, increasing system efficiency and supporting charitable engagement.

Message from the Chairman

"The milestones achieved by the Foundation in 2024 attest to its success in catalysing sustainable, human-centric approaches to building resilience", says Jacques de Vaucleroy, Chairman of the Swiss Re Foundation.

Highlights from strategy cycle 2022-24

Amplifying impact through evidence

Creating a body of evidence that informs our own and others’ resilience-building efforts is now integral to our strategy. We commission independent evaluations of Foundation projects and partners and make the findings publicly available.

Organisation Global footprint, focused portfolio

Supported by a global network of Swiss Re advisers and volunteers, the Swiss Re Foundation is run by a lean, increasingly international core team. The election of Andreas Berger, CEO of Swiss Re, to its Board of Trustees in 2024 reaffirmed its anchoring within the Swiss Re Group.

Annual report archives

We maintain a complete digital archive of the Swiss Re Foundation’s annual reports, including a 10th anniversary edition that gives the floor to our partners, from Swiss Re employees, NGOs and social enterprises to system efficiencies and people whose resilience has been improved by our projects.
