Education and career
Elsa earned her bachelor's (BLaw) and master's (MLaw) degrees in law from the University of Zurich, specialising on International and Public Law during her master's degree. Whilst exploring Swiss (civil) law in depth during her studies, she also broadened her knowledge of the English common law system during a year-long exchange at King's College London. Additionally, Elsa holds a Certificate in Transnational Law from the University of Geneva. Her passion for human rights is deeply rooted in her international upbringing, which inspired her to pursue a career in Sustainability.
Current role
As Life & Health Sustainability Lead, Elsa Lengeler currently focuses on helping Swiss Re reinsurance partners grow sales with social impact by making life and health insurance more inclusive for underserved communities. Since joining Swiss Re in 2019, Elsa has held multiple positions related to sustainability, including roles in Risk Management, Strategy, and Reporting. She enjoys leveraging her diverse professional background to contribute to the development of innovative solutions aimed at addressing customer needs and bridging protection gaps.
