Voices for resilience

Igniting the spark of a resilient tomorrow. Together.

Voices of Resilience

In this digital annual report, we offer a snapshot of the Swiss Re Foundation’s progress in 2025, and also of how we are advancing within our current strategic cycle. Alongside the year’s key highlights, the report reflects our continued role in de-risking entrepreneurial approaches to health and climate challenges, as well as our growing emphasis on evidence generation and knowledge sharing to support scalable, data-driven solutions.

We believe the Foundation’s distinctive contribution to a more resilient world lies in its ability to strengthen low-income communities by enabling innovation where risk would otherwise limit progress. By de-risking entrepreneurial solutions, improving system efficiency and fostering collaboration through shared insights, we aim to accelerate impact and support more sustainable and inclusive outcomes.

Advancing impact through strategic grants

In 2025, the Board of Trustees approved a new set of projects that advance our strategic priorities across health and climate. These initiatives reflect our continued focus on de-risking entrepreneurial solutions and supporting approaches with the potential to scale. Together, they strengthen our portfolio and contribute to more resilient and sustainable outcomes for the communities we serve.

Amplifying impact through evidence

Creating a body of evidence that informs our own and others’ resilience-building efforts is now integral to our strategy. We commission independent evaluations of Foundation projects and partners and make the findings publicly available.

Global footprint, focused portfolio

Supported by a global network of Swiss Re advisers and volunteers, the Swiss Re Foundation is run by a lean, increasingly international core team. The election of Andreas Berger, CEO of Swiss Re, to its Board of Trustees in 2024 reaffirmed its anchoring within the Swiss Re Group.
