Overcoming disasters with resilience
In a nutshell
The theme for this year's International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction is about governance to make the world more resilient for future generations. A significant day for us at Swiss Re Foundation to reiterate our commitment to empower the poor and vulnerable to build their capacity to plan for, prepare and respond to natural disasters. With a focus on disaster-prone regions, we partner with organizations that support vulnerable communities in their efforts to prevent and prepare for natural catastrophes, supporting in particular approaches of risk modelling for good, public and private partnerships for DFF and financial disaster risk protection. Presenting some of the most impactful projects our partners are spearheading to be more prepared and mitigate natural and man-made disasters.
